A Loud Quaking
Thursday Jan 29, 2026
Thursday Jan 29, 2026
In this powerful episode of The Flip Side of Adversity, Ayana Fernandes Pilgrim and I explore “A Great Quaking”—a deep, internal shaking beneath work, identity, and purpose that many are experiencing right now, particularly Black women. Our guest shares how this quaking unfolded through layered loss: grieving loved ones, leaving a DEI role she once loved, and ending a 27-year marriage—an intimate Gethsemane moment where surrender became unavoidable and what once sustained her could no longer hold her.
But the flip side of the quaking wasn’t collapse—it was clarity. Through acceptance, release, and radical imagination, she let go of old identities and limiting beliefs around people-pleasing, perfectionism, respectability, and urgency. In their place, she built a new blueprint rooted in faith, values, and truth—launching a new business and living with deeper integrity and purpose.
This conversation invites listeners to renew their minds, strengthen self-leadership, and become willing to birth a new version of themselves in this season of shifting.

Friday Nov 21, 2025
If you missed the She Shines: She Matters Conference, tonight’s episode of The Flip Side of Adversity is your chance to catch the fire, the wisdom, and the sisterhood that filled that room. 🔥💛
I’m bringing you the voices that lit up the conference and reminded every woman that purpose, power, and authenticity still matter.
💫 Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake
She opened the room with truth: When a woman knows she matters and stands in her divine assignment, she becomes unstoppable. Her call to lead with courage and lift as we climb is STILL echoing.
💫 Dr. Davina Williams
She spoke straight to our soul: You are powerful—not because life has been easy, but because you survived what tried to silence you. Your authority is God-given. Claim it.
💫 Iola Harper
And then Iola flipped the script: Success doesn’t come from imitation. It comes from authenticity. Be yourself. Be a learner. Be bold enough to stand in your truth.
Sis… if you weren’t in the room, you can be in the conversation tonight.
And if you were in the room, this episode is your refill.
